Gudi Padwa (ugadi) Gudi padwa is an Indian Hindu festival which marks the beginning of Hindu calender's new year. It occurs on the first day of the chaitra month(the first month of Hindu calender). Prominently celebrated on the western and southern parts of india where it is commonly known as Gudi padwa/Ugadi.
